In 2000 the town began looking for property to build a park to replace Kirschling Park.  In their search they wanted to locate somewhere near the center of the township.  They found land that could be reclaimed and turned into a park for future development as the need arises.  In putting together the Master Plan, the Town incorporated potential future uses as a Municipal Building Facility, Shelter and other best potential future uses.
