ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE

When a stray dog is captured the caller needs to check for a license on the dog and then call the Portage County Humane Society (344-6012) for pickup (reporting the license number, if it has one). The Town of Stockton and Portage County have contracted with the Portage County Humane Society  to do the animal control service from now on.

DOG LICENSES

 Licenses are $8.00 for neutered male and spayed female and $18.00 for un-neutered male or un-spayed female. The Clerk  will be available at the Town Hall, 7252 6th Street, Custer, to forward your  information to the Treasurer, who issues dog licenses .  All dogs over 5 months must be licensed and have rabies shots and there is a $5.00 late fee for dogs licensed after April 1st.
